I was first elected as your Labour MP for Enfield Southgate in

June 2017 and re-elected in December 2019. Before this I was a                                                                 solicitor and worked for Hackney Council on their housing litigation                                                           team for 16 years.

My parents came from Cyprus and I am the first MP whose

                                                       parents are both Cypriot.

I was born in London and raised in Bowes Park. I love Enfield and

grew up here. Many of my friends and family live in the area. As a

child I went to St Michael at Bowes Junior school, where I am now a

                                                       school governor.

I was a councillor for Palmers Green ward for 24 years - the place that has been my home for most of my life. Before entering parliament I was Enfield Council's cabinet member for Leisure, Culture, Localism and Young People.

As a member of the Justice Select Committee I will be focusing on the Legal Aid cuts, access to justice and other crucial areas that impact on my constituent's lives. I'm also a member of All-Party Parliamentary Groups on London, Cyprus, Crossrail Two, Autism, Sex Equality, Music, Global Education For All and London's Planning and Built Environment.

I will be a strong voice for Enfield Southgate in parliament and will campaign on the issues that matter to you.
