In September 2017 I joined the Justice Select Committee

This cross-party committee is made up of eleven MPs and meets around once a week. The Justice Select Committee monitors the policy, spending and administration of the Ministry of Justice as well as examining the work of the Law Officers of the Crown, the Crown Prosecution Office and the Serious Fraud Office.

Justice Questions - Tuesday 9th October 2018

I've spoken a lot about legal aid and how the Government's attack on our legal system is undermining access to justice. I questioned the Minister about legal aid for early advice. Watch the video below to see what the Minister had to say

Civil Liability Bill

In September 2018, the Civil Liability Bill which was introduced by the House of Lords, will be coming to the Commons.

I support victims of accidents, but the government‘s Civil Liability Bill will restrict access to justice for vulnerable road users, injured drivers and passengers, and workers who are victims of accidents at work and industrial diseases.

I held a drop-in session in Westminster with Ruth George MP, Thompsons Solicitors, USDAW, Cycle UK and the Law Society to start our campaign to protect and promote access to justice and the right to representation.
