Enfield and the Barnet’s United Nations Association

As part of UN80 celebrations, it was great to attend the unveiling of the newly restored birdbath in Broomfield Park’s Garden of Remembrance.

The Enfield and the Barnet’s United Nations Association have worked hard to restore the birdbath, first given to the park by the League of Nations!

RoadPeace Event

It was a pleasure to catch up with my constituent, Abi, in Parliament today with RoadPeace.

Since her fiancé, Mithun, was tragically killed in a road crash last year, Abi has been tirelessly campaigning for improved road safety on The Roundway and in Southgate and Wood Green.

I am proud to support the fantastic work that Abi has been doing, and it is an honour to be featured in RoadPeace’s new guide for MPs on helping constituents after road death or serious injury.

Well done Abi.

Teachers in Emergencies

To mark World Teachers Day 2025, it was a pleasure to chair a roundtable on Teachers in Emergencies organised by the National Education Union and the APPG on Global Education, with powerful voice from Palestine and Ukraine.

It was great to hear from Saed Erziqat from the General Union of Palestinian Teachers, along with Olga Chabaniuk and Kateryna Maliuta from the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.

We must ensure the protection of teachers in conflict zones and continue to champion the vital role UK aid plays in global education.

You can read more about the APPG’s work here: Home – APPG

West Grove Primary School

It was wonderful to visit West Grove Primary School in Southgate this morning.

I received a tour of the primary school and met some fantastic pupils, and it is always a pleasure to talk to young people about their experience at school.

It was great to talk to the children about my work as an MP and how Parliament works, as well as the important stuff, our favourite food!

Haringey Rough Sleeping Summit

Today, it was my pleasure to attend the Haringey Rough Sleeping Summit.

We must continue to listen to those directly affected by this issue, as well as housing and rough sleeping specialists, on what more can be done.

With panels on Women’s Homelessness and Sex Working, Contextualizing Homelessness, NRPF, Young People, and LGBTQ+ experiences, it was great to learn more about these issues.

Thank you to Haringey Council for organising this event and bringing us together for these discussions.

If you are struggling with a housing issue, please contact me at bambos.charalambous.mp@parliament.uk

Bowes East Residents’ Association Walkabout

Today, I joined Sarah and Aurora from the Bowes East Residents’ Association on a walkabout of the area.

I am grateful to them for raising their concerns about the area, notably regarding the rain gardens and litter. I have since contacted Enfield Council about these issues.

If you are concerned about a similar issue, please do not hesitate to email me at bambos.charalambous.mp@parliament.uk
