APPG for Long Covid

Today, I attended an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Long Covid, where I was elected as the new Chair of the group.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the Group’s continued work in raising awareness of Long Covid and advocating for those affected by the condition, and how I can help.

It is important that people living with Long Covid receive the recognition, support and care they need, and that their voices continue to be heard in Parliament.

Meeting with the Minister for International Development

Today, I had the opportunity to meet with Kirsty McNeill MP, Minister for International Development, to discuss my Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Bill and my work as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Global Education.

My Bill aims to help developing countries negotiate fairer debt repayments with private creditors, ensuring that more resources can be directed towards essential public services, including healthcare and education.

We also discussed the importance of improving access to quality education around the world and the priorities of the APPG for Global Education.

I welcomed the opportunity to discuss these important issues with the Minister and understand the position of the Government on my legislative proposals, and I look forward to continuing my work to support developing countries and improve educational opportunities globally.
