In 2019, there were 5,000 households in Enfield Southgate living in fuel poverty. Today, even more are feeling the pinch, with inflation out of control and the cost of living soaring at the fastest rate in nearly 30 years.

On Thursday, the Government announced its woefully inadequate plan to help people in Enfield with rising bills: a buy now, pay later scheme, which loads costs on working families for years down the line. It’s increasingly clear that the Tories are the cost of living crisis.

Labour, in contrast, would keep bills low and help fix the cost of living crisis with a windfall tax on oil and gas profits.
