Letter to Foreign Secretary

As the decision to ban UNRWA comes into effect, I have signed a cross-party letter to the Foreign Secretary to call for intervention and to protect humanitarian aid going to Gaza.

On the 13th January 2025, I spoke in a general debate on Hospices and Palliative Care to discuss the extraordinary work carried out by North London Hospice and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. Financial challenges faced by hospices outline the importance of long-term reform to the hospice funding model.

Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Bill

On Wednesday 13th November, I presented my Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Bill to Parliament. Above are the highlights of my speech.

If passed, this Bill would:

  • Compel private creditors to actively participate in the debt relief process and accept the same terms as other lenders.
  • Reduce the burden of debt for the poorest countries.
  • Cost the Treasury absolutely nothing.
