90% of schools expect to run out of money next year, according to a recent survey by the National Association of Headteachers. It’s clear we’re facing a funding crisis in education, and I’ve spoken to headteachers who say that while school debt is escalating, demands on schools continue to increase.
On Monday, I asked the Minister how schools in my constituency can deliver on standards and provide additional support when they can’t afford to survive.
In response, the Minister promised to meet headteachers from Enfield Southgate to hear from them directly and see what support can be given to schools in our community, and I will be urgently taking this up with the Government and the new Education Secretary.
