Following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini, I shared my solidarity on behalf of the Labour Party with ordinary Iranians – particularly women and girls – who are clamouring for change against a regime which restricts the liberty and vitality of its people.
Sanctions against Iran are welcome, but the UK must also do more to support Iranian civil society and independent journalism.
