I met bus drivers in Palmers Green to hear their concerns about remote sign on, a worrying practice that means drivers no longer start their shift at a depot. Signing on remotely means that drivers do not have access to basic facilities, such as toilets, canteens or break rooms, which increases health and safety risks including fatigue.
I’m supporting Unite the Union’s campaign against remote sign on, as it is bad for drivers, bad for passengers and bad for health and safety.
