Blue Badge Issue Resolved

At the end of last year, a family (who I will call family X) in Southgate and Wood Green contacted me about their child with serious ongoing medical needs. Due to these needs, family X needed a Blue Badge for their child, as they often struggle with access and need to attend the hospital for emergency treatment. I was deeply concerned to learn that their application for a Blue Badge had been rejected.

Following this, I contacted the Council and requested their case be reviewed. On receipt of my email, the Council reviewed family X’s application and supported the issue of a Blue Badge.

This now means that family X can travel with peace of mind that their child will not be stuck in a parking bay far from a hospital entrance and can get the access they need.

This is just one example of how I can support my constituents with casework.
