The Conservative Government’s complacency is creating a cost-of-living crisis for the people of Enfield.

I’m incredibly concerned that people are being squeezed from all sides – with tax rises for working people while food, petrol and energy prices soar. At the same time, the Chancellor has decided to cut taxes for banks and big companies like Amazon.

The Budget failed to deliver for local people in Enfield Southgate; from next year our taxes will be the highest they’ve been in decades, and yet there was no plan to help our public services – with fewer police on streets, growing class sizes, and longer waits to access hospital treatment.

In contrast, a Labour government would tax fairly, spend wisely and get our economy moving to support working families and businesses.
