With reports that school spending per pupil has fallen by 9% in real terms since 2009-10, it is extremely concerning that education – the cornerstone for the future of our economy – is not being properly supported and is currently missing the ambition it deserves and desperately needs.
I have been contacted by many constituents, school leaders, and parents in recent weeks who are incredibly disappointed that education funding was missing from the Autumn Statement. I urged the Chancellor to take steps to address this, which you can read below.
