Ofgem has announced an energy price cap rise that almost triples bills since last winter. This will be a social and economic disaster, and I know people in our community are seriously worried about being able to pay their energy bills in the weeks and months ahead.
Indeed, according to new research, Enfield is among the hardest-hit areas in the country for rising energy bills and has more “energy crisis hotspots” than anywhere else in London.
That’s why I’ve been calling for immediate action – through freezing the energy price cap – so the burden of inflated energy prices does not fall on people in our community while the big energy companies make eye-watering profits.
