The Nationality and Borders Bill Committee came to an end on 4th November. The Bill will now move to Report stage.
Since September, I’ve been leading the Opposition’s scrutiny of this flawed and dangerous piece of legislation, which aims to criminalise those seeking asylum in the UK. It is neither firm nor fair, but fatally flawed, and our line-by-line scrutiny of this Bill has shown how dangerous the Government’s proposals are.
I hope that as the Bill progresses through Parliament, amendments are taken to reverse some of the most draconian measures.
