Finally, it was an honour to attend the debate in Parliament this week on the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

I received many emails, letters and messages from constituents sharing their support and solidarity with Nazanin’s family, and urging me to call on the Foreign Secretary and the Prime Minister to do everything they can to bring Nazanin home for Christmas.

The situation is heart breaking and while I didn’t get a chance to speak in the debate, I was proud to represent the people of Enfield Southgate in calling for the Government to free Nazanin.

Nazanin, Richard and their family’s strength and determination is extraordinary, and I hope that one day it is matched by their government.
