Since the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill was introduced, it has dominated my inbox as people in Enfield have expressed deep concern about losing their right to protest.

While rightly condemning attacks on democracy across the globe, the Government hopes to restrict the rights of people in this country to protest peacefully.

On Monday I voted against attempts to criminalise noisy protest on behalf of my constituents. Unfortunately, with the support of Conservative MPs, the Government overturned amendments that had been won in the House of Lords. This means the Bill will now go back and forth between the Commons and Lords until an agreement is reached.
