The murder of Sir David Amess last week was heart-breaking, and a shocking attack on our democracy. Sir David was a dedicated public servant and a tireless representative for the people of Southend West. I will miss my conversations with him deeply, which were always greeted with a smile.
I was honoured to offer my condolences to the families of Sir David and James Brokenshire in Parliament this week. They were two of the kindest parliamentarians I have met, and they will be missed by all.
