3,450 people in Enfield are living with dementia and it is vital they get the support they need.

In November, I visited Age UK Enfield’s dementia day centre, where residents with dementia receive high quality care and take part in a range of activities to stimulate the memory and mind. Thank you to Venetta and the team for your incredible work supporting people across the borough who are living with dementia.

Bambos Charalambous MP speaking to members at Age UK's dementia day centre in Enfield

With new research showing that 1.7 million people in England and Wales could be living with dementia by 2040, we have to ensure that everyone living with dementia gets the diagnosis, support, and hopefully soon, the treatment they need.

Back in July, I wrote to the Health Secretary to urge him to prioritise dementia. You can view my letter below.
