Levelling up the UK cannot mean levelling down London, but locally all we’ve seen recently is the levelling down of financial support for Enfield.

Since 2010, consecutive Conservative governments have starved local authorities of sufficient resources and funding. Since 2018, central government has cut Enfield Council’s budget by £70.2million, while allocating nothing from the Town Fund, Levelling Up Fund and Community Renewal Fund.

I spoke to Enfield Dispatch about the raw deal Enfield is getting from government with neighbouring MPs Feryal Clark and Kate Osamor.
