While it has taken months for the Afghan Citizens’ Resettlement Scheme to be opened, I welcomed its introduction as my office has been supporting several Chevening alumni connected to our constituency who remain stranded and in desperate need of our help.
The scheme must be a success but issues around family reunion, integration and safe passage from third countries remain.
