Visit to Minchenden Lodge

It was great to visit Minchenden Lodge Care Home over the weekend for afternoon tea with residents, their families and staff.

It was wonderful to hear their stories and to spend time with them.

Well done to Vijay, Minette, Kimisha and all the staff on organising such a great afternoon!

St Michael at Bowes visit to Parliament

On Monday 16th June, it was wonderful to host the St Michael at Bowes School Council in Parliament. We were even lucky enough to bump in to the Deputy Speaker of the House!

Always a pleasure to give the children a tour and learn more about their roles as school councillors.

On Monday 23rd June, I welcomed the rest of the School Council to Parliament for a tour and Q&A session. It was great to spend time with the councillors and be asked insightful questions about my role as an MP and how the House works.

St Thomas More visit to Parliament

On Thursday 12th June, I welcomed the St Thomas More School Council to Parliament for a tour of the Palace.

Afterwards, I sat down with the school councillors and was asked questions on all things Parliament and being an MP!

It was great to hear young people so passionate about social issues, particularly crime and climate change.

Meeting with the British Alevi Federation

I had a productive meeting in Parliament yesterday with representatives from the Britanya Alevi Federasyonu and the Syrian Alawite Association in Britain.

It was harrowing to hear the extent of the crisis as attacks on minorities continue. The Government must put pressure on the Syrian administration to intervene.
